Export news from the USA

Again so much for the seamless border and everybody living under one big security tent. Paranoia has won. About 6 yrs ago I was doing hail claims on fields right beside the MB/North Dakota line when I was surprised to see USAF F16s doing run-ups and turnaways from the south. Huh! I thought NORAD did'nt recognize the border. It did'nt use to anyway, but the Liberal view on space defence helped to change that. It reminded me of seeing the Syrians and Israelis doing the same thing on the Golan Heights.:(

The trouble with dealing with US laws is that they lump us in with all the other foreigners all the time. I remember visiting the State Dept in Washington many years ago to talk with people on the "Canadian Desk". Quel Surprise! They were actually working in the European section! When dealing with the US DOD on strictly bilateral issues we often found ourselves frustrated by "one size fits all" US legislation. It was as frustrating to the US people as it was to us.

When I winter in the southern US the topic of "threats from Canada" sometimes comes up around the coffee table. I don't enjoy reminding our friends of a few facts on this like:
-the 9/11 perpetrators were already in the US with permission before the fact
-who knows just who is in the horde that crosses the southern border every night. They aren't all necessarily looking for a job picking tomatoes.:(
-the weapons of 9 yrs ago were simple boxcutters and commercial jets
-be careful not to shut out our oil and gas along with a lot of other things

Tightening the noose again, aren't they ?

I sometimes kindly remind family members in Europe that Canada and U.S. relations are not all fun and games.

I have a much easier time getting firearm parts (stocks even) from places like the U.K. and Europe then I do with the U.S. as they are simply paranoid that I'm going to be building some sort of weapon of mass destruction with a 100 year old piece of word and firearm parts for a long forgotten caliber.

Canada, could easily be exempted from the restrictions, at the approval and request of the federal government of Canada. That is old news as well

Get North America out of the international criminal organisation, known as the UN and the UN, out of North America.

What Nabs said.

Screw em. I get parts from Europe also. Most of my guns are European anyway.
