If I can get the approval from the ATF, is there any vendors in Canada who can export a Tavor? As far as I can tell the removal of the flash suppressor, and or by making the barrel with no threads may allow me to get a Tavor from Canada. I would need an exporter, my FFL dealer and someone to remove the flash suppressor and make the barrel with no threads. Can someone please help a fellow enthusiast out.

Contact CanadaAmmo, there is a banner up top that will take you to his website. He selling the Tavor and likely the best person to ask.

Good Luck! I would LOVE a Tavor, but went with the Chinese Type97 he sells.

Cheers
Jay

A guy here in the US on HKPro.com imported an SL8-5 into the US from Canada. Only difference is the Sl8 has no muzzle attachment, but it did have a double stack magazine.

you cannot import a TAVOR from Canada to the US - go google 89 import ban.

You can only have 1 evil feature - TAVOR has 3.

Also, from what I heard, the US had changed the "part kit" rule - barrel is not allowed anymore.

SL8 is considered a sporting rifle by the US DOS. The Tavor certainly is not a sporting rifle in their eyes. I guarentee you are one of many hundreds of people and businesses that have all ready tried and have or will be denied. Now you know the BS we have to put up with your US DOS.

Interesting I don't think there is an issue with muzzle attachments from a federal regulation perspective, there is at state level in some states vis a vis permanently attached compensators rather than flash hiders. Furthermore, again I might be wrong on this but I think the SL8 is deemed a sporting gun and is not being used as a military firearm anywhere, whereas the Tavor is. I know a buddy of mine was recently denied a permit to permanently import an AR15.

Yeah, but a Tavor without a muzzle device is something that would help out on the evil features.

TAVOR has pistol grip and detachable magazine. You have no hope at all. Import ban is determined by the number of evil features - that determined if it has sporting purpose for importation. Import ban has nothing to do with AWB. Your state may allow assault weapons, but the federal won't allow it to be imported.
