Extended bolt release

No wear that I am aware of. Go for the install. I've had success with both the NEA version and the Smith Ent units. Right now I'm rocking SEI (Smith) on both my M1A and Norc M14's. Really cool to carry out the Israeli mag changes! Well, if you are a lefty then save your money. You are in great luck.

hey hungry is there a reason you switch from NEA to SEI ???

Thanks

Yeah, I paid it forward to a young(er) CGNutter new to the M14 world. And he lives in SW Ont IIRC. I liked the install for the NEA unit. Very slick and it's interior diameter was researched to fit the existing NORC M14 pin (no need to replace), slide out pin, slap in new NEA bolt release, slide / tap old pin back in place. Just gotta get long enough roll pin punches, or improvise  with cheaper and more plentiful old Allen keys... long ones.

I happen to like the shape of the Smith Ent unit better, the pin was a fatter diameter so I used the Norc pin that's still there. And the interior diameter of the Smith unit was stubborn (too small) for the Norc pin so my tac bolt release is a little on the sticky side. Just need a few minutes to remove the pin and sand it down. I'm too lazy right now. This setup still works for demo'ing my Israeli Magazine changes as many of you saw this July at my Western Clinics. :D

Buy what works for you and your budget! ;)

Cheers,
Barney
