Extended choke benefits ?

I think the original Flight control shells recommended not being shot thru ported chokes. It was good advice as the patterns in what I tried sucked really bad. The newer ones apparently can be shot thru any configuration of choke. I tried some turkey shells with the newer Flight control wads with ported and non ported extended chokes and my Binelli SBE3 20 gauge is wearing an extended ported choke shooting TSS pellets. If theyre within fifteen or twenty your margin for error is the width of their neck!!

It was recommended not to use the early Flight Control wads in wadstripper chokes. Extended chokes, and ported chokes weren't the issue, even though most wadstripper chokes were extended chokes with ports.

One of the reasons why I like extended chokes is because it offers a little bit of protection for the end of the barrel. Less likely to get the end of the barrel dinged or scratched in the boat or have blueing wear on the end of the barrel putting and pulling a gun out of a soft case..
