I trying to figure out what extended chokes (manufacturer and grade, not choke size) to buy for my 12 ga Cynergy field (invector plus). Gun will primarily be used for sporting clays, trap & skeet.

There are a ton of different options ranging from ~ $42.95 each up to ~ $100.00 each, and would appreciate some info from more experienced gunners on the real world (not advertised) benefits of Briley, Browning, Carlsons, etc... to help me sift through the BS and make a decision.

Any experience you can share would be appreciated. Thanks!

My vote goes to Carlsons. High quality at the price that does not break the bank. These guys are Canadian distributor: http://www.alscornerstore.ca

Nice people to deal with.

Brileys, Trulock, etc are also high quality but the price usually goes up a notch. Some offer better aesthetics than other but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

On the shotgunworld.com lots of folks prize Muler chokes, but I have no experience with them.

Some (or most?) of the Browning branded chokes are made by Briley IIRC.
Browning's goose band chokes are very cool looking even on the trap range.

The waterfowl crowd likes messing with Wad Wizard, SRM Terror or other specialty chokes as some of those offer some advantages in specialty applications with steel or HD shot.

If crowd/team/squad you shoot with runs particular chokes or if they belong to a particular choke cult - there is your answer. It is usually easier to roll with the crowd. If they shoot a mix - pick a set of Carlsons and do not look back.

Just my $ 0.02

V-lad - I like your style. :)

I picked up a set of 7 Carlson tubes, and couldn't be happier with them. Very well made, and reasonably priced. Pattern as well if not better than my Diana grade tubes in my Cynergy. :)
