This Canuck O/U uses Mobilchoke. I have a Carlson flush mount Full Choke and no issue using it. My question is: Will a Stoeger or Beretta/Benelli extended Mobilchoke fit into a Canuck O/U? I am hesitant to get one as when I sent inquiries to both Stoeger and Beretta, i got a somewhat negative reply since I will be using this in a non-oem purpose. I have a Remington 1187, a Browning BPS and a Win SXP with aftermarket chokes, no issues. What both Stoeger and Beretta/Benelli is suggesting that the spacing between the barrels might have an issue.

Is there any Canuck O/U owner here had a chance using aftermarket extended choke tubes?

Some take Mobil chokes others don't. If it is actually Mobil threaded than Beretta chokes will work
My Canuck takes Mobil chokes and I use berettas. I have seen some Canucks listed as being Mobil choked yet they are not

I was able to use a flush mobil choke. Not sure if an extended choke will fit, taking into consideration the spacing between the barrels.

You should be able to use extended chokes without issue unless you're using some thick breacher styled choke
Sporting chokes will be fine. They won't be thicker than the outter diameter of the barrel

Oh boy, for some reasons, it looks like not all barrels threaded for mobilchoke has a consistent thread pattern . I was in my local gun store last saturday, tried a Beretta Extended Mobilchoke, NO GO. They only have Beretta, and not even close to getting the full turn on the thread. I guess, I will have to make the most out of the chokes that came with the gun.

So you have a Carlson brand Mobil choke that fits, but a Beretta brand mobil choke didn't?

Something doesn't seem right with that... Are you sure one of them wasn't an Optima choke or something?

Mobilchoke. Yes, did not even get to the 1st thread. It was from an off-shelf display packaging. Not unless it was a case of improperly packaged item, it was supposed to be Mobilchoke.

Sounds to me like something is labelled wrong... If the choke at the store didn't thread in, then either that choke is damaged or its the wrong choke for your gun. I can't think of any other reasons why it wouldn't work.

Here is a picture I found online showing the various Beretta/Benelli choke options:

Some cheaper manufacturers say they use Mobil chokes when they do not use Beretta Mobil chokes. Canuck is known to have issues with threading. Threads are often rough or sharp
The threading on actual Beretta chokes is the same for flush and extended. They are totally interchangable

Had the same problem with my Turkish Catma O/U factory chokes threads in just fine so I bought Beretta Victory chokes and no dice, wouldn't thread in at all, long story short I checked the tread pitch and diameter with a set of vernier calibers and there where the same thread and close Dia.
But had to use a strap wrench and they went in , now they tread in and out no problem I think the factory barrels are just a bit under sized.
but a bit of high temp grease on threads and good luck they should fit just tight 😉

My Canuck O/U is a rebranded CATMA. CATMA marking is still visible. I guess, my experience is not isolated.
I wonder if the STOEGER extended mobilchoke will fit?
