Due to how I have to mount a scope on my BSE Martini 22, I need about 6'' of eye relief-which is what I see some of the shotgun scopes have, along with parallax set for 50 yards. Is there any reason why getting a shotgun scope would not work in this application? Most of my shooting will be under 100 yards anyway so 4X or 2-7 should be adequite.I'm looking at the Nikon prostaff line

They will work perfectly for that purpose. Eye relief varies from model to model, so try before you buy. Also, some "shotgun" scopes have very heavy reticles, which can obscure the sometimes very small targets you will be most likely be shooting at. You will be happiest with a standard or fine reticle.

A couple weeks ago I was looking through a BSA target scope. I'm 99% sure it was the Sweet 17 model. That scope had a crazy amount of eye relief. At least 6 inches. I don't know if the scope itself had a problem, or if they are made with that much eye relief, but you should check into it.

6''would be great-I could hold the stock about right ,without leaning way forward.I saw a Bushnell Banner that had 6'' of eye relief, but I'll check out the BSA Target model too.
