Extended mag release on my SKS

I've always loved my sks...but the factory mag release was junk for detachable mags.
so I decided to rig up an extended mag release for it.

You can probably tell from the pictures.... a press forward on the new release lever pushes back on the original mag release and drops the mag. Pretty simple concept, im sure its been done before.

I have a Tapco stock for my SKS but it doesn't fit well. The gun moves around in the stock and every once in a while the trigger group would pop out when firing the rifle. The safety also wouldn't work with the Tapco stock on so I had to take the safety out. I eventually just got fed up with it and put all the old furniture back on. Should I just take mine to a gun smith and have the gun smith fit it properly? I think I'm going to buy another SKS so I can keep one stock. Oh yea! and the bolt wouldn't close all the way sometimes. A lot of the time id have to slap the bolt to get it to close.

That's a pretty common problem. lots of people using shimming to keep it from moving around
