External Barrel Cleaner????

Ok so I'm the type of person that likes my guns clean and in mint shape always. I have a Steyr HS50, I noticed i have some kind of weird mark on the side its not a scratch it seems to be some type of stain... if your not familiar with the rifle the barrel is a "precision, cold hammer forged barrel" or at least thats the description steyr gives it. Anyway the barrel has a weird texture to it unlike anything i have seen before. if you touch it it shows the oil from your hands/ your finger prints perfectly. If you try and rub the oil off lets say with your palm, it starts to generate tiny pieces of fibre or dirt, that eventually you can jus wipe off... Its hard to explain... Sorry if this makes no sense, I tried.... Anyway please advise on any type of cleaning agent that will not effect the barrel's appearance, thank-you

Steyr user manuals are available for download on their website; I'm not sure what your model is or if it is current.

Try spraying the area with G96 and scrubbing with a soft toothbrush, then wipe....then you'll wanna spray down the whole gun and wipe...

I like G96 as well...

This works too - a little gravy wiped on the barrel and let your dog clean it off.

I like RB 17 and give it a good scrub.then a nice oil bath she'll love it......
