External choke die?

A friend of mine has a 12 gauge with external threaded choke with bad threads. Is there a die to clean it up?

They do make things called a thread file.
Sometimes they work if yer pay-shint and careful.

Try a gunsmith maybe if one close. Not all common TPI some are 32 some are 44 etc etc and too fine for a file IMO
IMO best to toss it and buy a new one if just the tube. Cheaper in the long run
