The last few boxes of Hornady 22 cal 55 grain V-max bullets I have loaded have had 101 bullets in each box instead of the usual 100. I know this because I always load either 50 or 100 rounds at a time and try to keep the primer trays filled with a even number which corresponde to the open box of bullets. I know this has OCD written all over it but it is just the way I like to do things. Any one else loading these that has found a extra bullet in every box?? I kind of like the option as I always make a dummy round for every bullet I load for ease of setting up my seating dies so it is a real bonus in that sense. So far I have only found the extra bullet in the 55 grain v max though. Any one else experience the same??

IMO, I'd say it's not on purpose - selling 101 for the price of 100 cuts seriously into profit (i.e. this is simplistic, but if the margin is 10% on bullets, then in a pack of 100, 90 bullets are overhead and 10 are profit, so giving one away cuts profit 10%).

I understand that they fill by weight, and occassionally they go one over, just to be sure they aren't one under (which = angry consumer). Likely happened with the 55gr and not the heavier bullets because a "underage" of say 25gr on 100 bullets would not mean that a 180gr is missing, but could mean that for a 55gr.
