I wonder how many guys actually fill these extra tags?
I'm not being critical and I doubt that there are many hunters that can't get a tag because of a shortage.
But if you look at the hunter success ratio's, tag availability and the number that get sold it becomes pretty clear that a lot of tags are trashed not cut!
For example I had nine tags (family) for deer last year... two ended up unused. There were many tags still available for my area at the beginning of each hunt so I know anyone who wanted one could still get one. This is obviously necessary for management in areas of high density.... but I think they need to lengthen the seasons in order to really make use of the extra tags.
