Extra Full Choke

If you're a beginner I would recommend an improved modified as an all around good trap choke. With an extra full at the 16 yard line you're going to have to be right on to hit the clay. If you're an advanced shooter at the 27 yard line then have at 'er.

I bought the choke for turkey.
Maybe I should exchange it for full and go with that rather than extra full.
I am a beginner and currently shoot with modified.
Not doing so well...lol
We all started somewhere

Try patterning your gun. It may not be shooting where you are looking. Being new there can be many issues to why you're not doing so good. No offense intended. Try going to a trap night and ask for help. Many seasoned shooters can help point out things and even let you know where you missed whether high low in front or behind. I'd say keep the choke for turkeys and add a few more over time. Once you practice more in trap try the xf again. If you're hitting the targets you know you're doing good

When messing about at the club and shooting "fun" doubles I use the XF in the second barrel because that second shot can be long if the two clays fly at a wide angle. It is likely a little too tight for 16yard line singles though- but the good thing is that you will absolutely learn when you are "on it" as the clay will be smoked. A mod from the 16 yard line isn't too bad- but IM or full would likely be better. Pattern your loads and chokes- then you will know for sure.
