Extra magazine for Marlin XT-22?

Hello... i would like to buy a couple extra mags for my Marlin XT-22.

But does a .22 lr mag have to be for your model rifle only, or any .22 lr mag will work on any .22 lr rifle?

Can anyone recommend a mag for my marlin?

You can get it from any good store that carrys Marlin.

Yes they are gun specific.

Reccomendations? What are you looking for? High capacity? Same as stock!?! All depends what you plan/want to do with it...
 
I was looking for either the stock or a 10 round mag.... Nothing crazy, just wanted the convenience of having a few loaded and ready to shoot those beer cans with... :)
I tried googling and only found some at Cabela's i did not find any within the sponsors so far... It mentions its for Marlins but does nto show models only says .22 lr 1-shot 1988+

I'm pretty sure the XT-22 uses the same mag as my 795, and my 917M2. Check out this link from Marlin's site; http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/accessories/magazines.asp

Magazine #3 on the top row is what my 917M2 came with (7-shot), works with .22lr...and is likely the mag that came with your XT-22. It works in my 795 AND 917M2.
Magazine #4 on the bottom row is what my 795 came with (10-shot), it works in both guns too.

I'm about 99% sure you're OK buying 795 mags (10 round) and using them in your XT.
