I have a win model 70 coyote in 22-250,after I shoot the round off, and start extracting the empty casing, the casing just falls off and is left sitting on top of the magazine. Most of my rifles fling the empty casing out the side with force.I bought this rifle out of Alberta, and at some point I know it spent some time at a gunsmith getting tuned up.My question is, do I have a problem with extraction ,or did the gunsmith do something to make the shells fall off in the chamber so you do not have to chase your brass? Thanks Dave

You have a weak ejector will not hold empty long enough for it to get past the chamber
to push it out to the side releases as it is pulled back .

Extractor - Pulls the case from the chamber.

Ejector - Kicks the empty out of the gun.

The extractor needs to hold the case long enough and firm enough for the ejector to do it's job.

I am not sure what the coyote has for an action. If it's a push feed your ejector will be a spring loaded pin in the bolt face and that could be gummed up or the spring broken.
If the action is a control round feed it will be a blade ejector that slides up in a slot in the bolt face when you pull the bolt back. You should also make sure that the empty is not hitting the scope and causing it not to eject, I have seen that before.
Once you determine the action type you can see what is wrong.

You may have something there with the case hitting the scope
