Extractor for Rolling block No 1??

I am looking for a replacement bar-type extractor for an original Remington Rolling block. I picked up the gun a few years ago, and would like to restore it to shooting condition. It is in rough condition externally, but seems to have a shootable bore.

The extractor is broken, and I cannot find a replacement part form the usual sources. Can anyone point me to a source? Is it a part that could be reasonably fabricated?

If by bar type you mean the little straight one that sits in the groove alongside the barrel it should not be too hard to build one from scratch. Be a couple hours of filing and fitting. Much easier if you have one to copy too.

Not sure where else you would look to buy parts. Numrich Gun Parts in the US has a huge stock of old odd parts but I'm not sure if they will send anything to Canada anymore. Western Gun Parts might be worth a try but last time I tried them for anything a little out of the norm they woudn't even talk to me.

Next best bet might be Lone Star Rifle Company in Texas. They list a rotary extractor in the parts they sell but I don't see a sliding type listed.

i concur, Lone Star Rifle co. in Texas are the be all and end all when it comes to rolling blocks!

FYI-Numrich still ships to Canada but have upped their international handling charge to $25

Thanks to all who posted suggestions. Unfortunately, no-one seems to have this particular part. Looks like I need to do some blacksmithing ......

It seems that a lot of the rolling blocks available are missing parts, and broken extractors are a common problem. If someone with the know-how felt entrepreneurial ............
