You know, we may be able to learn from Katka. This is how you keep the shooter in the loup. Talk about customer service! This is a match I will put in my to do list next year.

Does anyone know if anyone is heading over to Czech on the 1st from Austria. My original ride might not be able to help me due to his work. Or barring that, does anyone know a rough cost on being driven over? I'm told renting a car to drive over is waaay to much money, and I'm already sharing a rental once there.

Ouch, Rob! Maybe it is better to ask this on Global Village...

Fang, take the train, I know you can get to Brno from Vienna, for 50 or 60 Eur. Zynomo does not have a train station. I can't remember the closest station to Zynomo but it is only 20 or 25 minutes away. Should be able to score a ride. Check into it.

Crazy question perhaps...I am in Germany for school. Can I head over to CZ and play using a rented gun? (Also having no IPSC experience...)

You have to be IPSC member to participate in IPSC matches. Not sure if you can rent a gun in CZ, better address this question directly to the Match Director.

On the other hand, if you don't have any IPSC experience, it would be pretty much waste of time to go to a such big match.

Thanks! I've been in contact with a shooter on global village too. Volcanoes, airline strikes, work, cancer, man all this stuff is getting to be a bit much. I can hardly wait until I'm over there so I can shoot and relax.
If I take the bus, where do I declare my guns in Czech?
Nothing like last minute changes.

The bus from Vienna aiport is cheap and comfortable.

The best is ask for to the firearm permit at the local Czech consulate.

The Austria is in the Schengen area - http://www.mvcr.cz/clanek/web-eu-schengen-schengen-area.aspx

got my reply back from my Czech Embassy today, they need the ORIGNAL invite in order to issue me my permit. So hopefully someone from Czech can send an original to the Czech Embassy in Oslo Norway, and I can get it issued to me there. sigh. wish they could've let me know sooner.
On top of that, my flight to Norway on the 21st has been cancelled. British Airways is attempting to get me onto another flight, on another day. But don't know for sure when that will be. Go Unite! Union for the cabin crew for BA, rotating strike action. Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Ok after much pissing about, I just rented a taxi and went to the range. Nothing on the website told me where to go to register or what else was being done. I should've known enough to drag my gear with me, and get checked out, but being so used to how we do it in BC (at the Chrono), I didn't. No problem though as I'll do it in the morning before we shoot.
Eugene is still on his way, he was stuck in traffic and is taking longer than he thought to get here.
One thing that should've been mentioned, and makes me glad I didn't bring my own ammo, is that Hollow Point ammo is specifically prohibited. I would've been right pissed to get here and have to throw out 700-800 rounds and then have to try and buy ammo. So anyone else thinking of doing this next year, be aware.
Shooting starts at 730 for us, so we'll be there for 7am or earlier I guess. Probably would've been cheaper to just take a taxi, then to rent a car like we decided to do. It's not like there is a ton of driving to be done around here, and taxis are cheap. plus then you can drink and not have to worry about driving.

Slavex,
when you gonna be there, I mean at the range remind Eugene (he is my friend) to see that red point on the front sight on the target before he pulls the trigger.
Guys have a good match.
