extreme weather ss model 70 stock has been changed

I was just at the gun store checking out the model 70 all weather extreme and noticed the grip is not as beefy feeling as the first ones that came out last year. As well it did not have any grip cap. I liked the beefy feeling of the new model 70 all weather extreme stocks. Why did they change it? As well does anyone know where to find one in .270 with the original bulky stock with grip cap???

I suspect they had more complaints about the beefy grip than compliments.

Well I hope I can find a .270 with the beefy grip. The new ones are way to skinny for my big mits.

I'll be home in 2 weeks and get handle mine (still haven't seen it yet). the Stock will be forsale, pretty sure it's the original chubby black B&C stock.

When I was looking for an all weather rifle a month or so ago I almost bought the Extreme Weather SS. I didn't because I couldn't get over the chubbiness of the stock. We'll see what the new ones are like. Maybe I'll need another gun

It seemed like the palm swell was an issue for lots of model 70 EW owners. I was in the minority that liked the old stye beefy grip and winchester logo grip cap.
