is there a painless way to weigh extruded IMR 3031 powder I am using a lyman powder thrower and digital scale and pulling my hair out, every charge is different some times as much as 3 grains plus or minus the desired weight, is there a automated scale powder thrower combo that works with extruded powder ? thanks

thanks guys , exactly what im doing was hoping for a easy out, accuracy is time consuming, at least I have a digital scale , I was hoping for some auto trickler hooked up to a digital scale

I throw just slightly below what I want and pinch in the rest from a small open bowl of powder.
Works better than trickling for me.

Three Grains?
Sum Ting Wong!
What powder measure are you using? No baffle?
I can get more accuracy than that with a Lee Dipper and scraping off the excess.

How old is that measure? Are you using a baffle? I use a crappy lee measure, and after heavy use, it actually tosses powder within .3 grains. Believe it or not... I throw light and trickle anyways. For now I can't justify the cost and bench space of a chargemaster.

Chargemaster. While it is dropping the next charge I seat the bullet in the last one. Fast and efficient.

But if I want speed, I just use ball powder and throw it. Just about dead nuts every shot. H335, BLC2, and 748 are your friends.

random letters what type of lube ? thanks

Until you get another reply: Hornady is going to recommend their One Shot Dry Lube for all their gear. It's actually really, really good. The fact that it's a dry lube means you don't have to worry about it getting in your powder. I love that stuff. I use it on everything that doesn't actually need grease.
