I frequently shoot offhand with a Savage MKII and a Bushnell Banner 3.5-10x36, with the scope usually cranked up to 10x. When I assume a comfortable shooting position the right lens of my eyeglasses is about 5.25" from the scope's eyepiece. The problem is that I do not see the full field of vision. It's like looking through a pencil-thick tube of light. To see the full field of vision I have to crane my neck forward until the eyeglass lens is about 3.5" from the scope. This is awkward and uncomfortable. (The eyeglasses have progressive lenses, so there isn't much flexibility there either.)
The scope is already mounted as far back as it will go, and I don't think extension mounts would add enough travel to be worthwhile.
So it seems to come down to either finding a scope with extra long eye relief, or maybe getting some kind of prescription shooting glasses that would (??) compensate for the distance.
If anybody else has this problem and has found a solution I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.
