Ezed xcr adapter

Loved mine when I had it. I ordered it directly from EZED off the XCRforum. I don't own it anymore so I can't help you guys but having run it I can tell you the ACR stock was fantastic on the XCR-L, balance was great as well as the ergonomics, here's some pics of mine...wish she was still with me. :(

Just so you are aware, the ACR stock does not lock in the folded position as well. It's held in place by spring tension.

And there is PLENTY of tension. If you look at the first photo in my previous post you can see the little ramps or cams that held the stock in the folded position until you physically muscled it backwards. It had a very positive and durable feel, I don't see it as any sort of detriment.

I don't mind at all the fact it does not lock in the folded position... On the contrary, I think this is a good thing as you can quickly deploy the stock to the open position. I mind that fact that the XCR stock (like the CZ-858 folding stock for example or the early ATI folders for the SKS) does not lock in place very effectively when open... When you grab the buttstock, the weight of the rifle has a tendency to disengage the lock by raising the buttstock assembly in relation to the rifle and then it can close on your fingers... There should be a real lock like the button on the ACR stock or the folding stock on the Swiss Classic Green.

I'm confused. Are you referring to the original style tube folding stock or the new FAST stock? I was under the impression that the new FAST stocks had a lock which had to be disengaged with a firm press of a button in the pivot?

No button on the FAST stock... You have to lift the stock to disengage the locking lug from its slot... Now, it is somewhat effective but under the wrong circumstances, the stock can fold when the rifle is held by the butt... There is what looks like a button at the bottom of the hinge but it is in fact an extension of the pivot pin that helps to push up the whole stock... The Fast stock is much like the Choates stocks as far as the locking mechanism go...

Mind you, there is a mechanical disadvantage built in the stock so that elevating the stock is probably impossible when held away from the hinge but I did manage to fold mine during some brisk movements with the rifle held by the FAST stock with one hand close to the pivot point... I believe my firm grasp (heavy rifle!) might have elevated the stock somewhat with my thumb probably pushing downward on the receiver... The rifle was in a somewhat vertical position as well... I don't do that anymore! A mechanical latch that positively locks the stock open would be an improvement IMO...

But the FAST stock does not fold when struck from the side like the CZ858 folder does!

On the minus side for the ACR stock, it seems to block the trigger while folded when installed on the XCR...

Ahh okay. Thanks for clarifying.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^

Later....

Everyone has to keep in mind that Gravel is bringing in more folders because the NR ACR is coming this year. There are several retailers who carry them right now.

I'm going to keep the +1 posts going for one more week and then begin with cost analysis.

This was a serious question.

Ok....well I'm not exactly privy to the importer's stock level at this time. There a number of retailers who carry them and the importer is Gravel Agency. Most retailers who are bringing in the NR version will be carrying the enhanced stock.

This thread is about the adapter, please keep your posts "I'm in" or "+1"
