I'm just curious what CGN members F.A.S.T test times are. Please post your time, the pistol, caliber, holster set up you used and the type of concealment or duty condition you performed it from.

For me:

Time: 8.26 Sec
Pistol: HK P2000, 9mm 115g
Holster: Raven OWB Holster
Condition: Drew from under a fleece pull-over.

I'll have to do a search on the flick method. I had to grab the bottom of the fleece and pull it up to clear the pistol, same for the mag.

I'm going to try a shooting vest next time as I'm guessing it will be slightly faster, but my reflexes are slightly better than that of a dead sloth so I'm not expecting great improvement in that area...:D

sub 5 most of the time, no cover or duty gear. yeah yeah, Todd grinds my gears about it all the time. Best times are sub 4's, but I only achieve that when I've been shooting regularly all week. first run is usually my best one too. I stick to the "only 3 times a day" rule as well.

Wow, those are some really great times guys.

For those that are curious, here's the ranking system for this drill...

10+ seconds: Novice
less than 10 seconds: Intermediate
less than 7 seconds: Advanced
less than 5 seconds: Expert

All the good shooters will post times.

All the crappy shooters will not post on the thread, or if they do they will conspicuously omit to post a time.

I cheat like Slavex though and run an open bladetech DOH but with that if memory serves I can usually get around 5 seconds. I shall have to try it with a hoody and without the doh part on the holster sometime.

And the point is? You are practicing to emergency reload after two rounds?

Remember, as you train, you fight. God help you if you ever need three in a rush, 'cause you'll be screwing around doing an unnecessary reload. I always get a hoot out of Bill Jordan's account of a BP supervisor attending a major shootout on the Rio Grande, and his left hand sports jacket pocket filled to the brim with empties!

If you gotta test yourself against standards, have a bunch, all different, most solved in two or three shots, and do one, and only one, and then only on rare occasions. Everything else is just gaming.

Hey since my shooting range doesn't allow any human silhouette targets, what do you guys recommend for the target?

Also I've been watching some videos and I'm wondering, would my IPhone be good enough to measure the time?
