F-Class 308 amunition clarification please

I have spent some time in the rule PDF file, and the F class amunition rule is
confusing me.

The first Rule I read stated my 308 amunition needed to be factory or handload, and be dimentionall correct and safe to fire.

The second encounter mentioned a max bullet weight of 156gr.

It is such a massive file that I'm not sure if it's me or actually is confusing.


What is the maximum bullet weight for Restricted or Factory F-class?

There is no max bullet weight for F - T/R.

The restriction only existed for F-F class which is no longer recognized at DCRA sanctioned matches.
 
F TR has no bullet weight in North America. Shooter are shooting from 155 to 210gr.

There is no official F factory or restricted rule book so just depends on what your local match director allows.

The 'less than 156 grain' rule comes from Palma. For F/TR ( which is restricted to .308 and .223 ) there is no limit - in fact, many are experimenting with heavy 208 grain + in their .308's. This doesn't mean that 155's are dead as shifting them close to 3000 fps makes them are darn effective pill.
 
For better or worse, the US has pretty much defined the FTR rule set.

The upside is the bullet development has been verocious so all shooters win.

I think Berger has put out at least a dozen new bullets this season and more slated to be released.

I am waiting for new bullet tech to hit the 22cal. I think weights approaching 98gr would lead to some interesting results.

Have discovered the effectiveness of a 208 Hornady Match in a 1 in 10 twist 308, pushing them at 2600+ and shooting .65 at 300 metres, best results of my shooting life... JP.
