OK, we are on our way. We have the DCRA approval and will be holding an eastern F-class championships.

Were: Connaught ranges
Who: National Capital Regional Rifle Association
When: Thursday June 30, 2011 - siters and fun shoot (5 shot, smallest group at 900m)
July 01 - 03 - competition 700-900m (ICFRA targets)

More details to follow!

good to see this. I too am disappointed the event is the same weekend as the Westerns. I am concerned the choice of dates is going to have a negative impact on the turn out at both events. I'd come but I'm already committed to going to the Westerns.

I'm very surprised the DCRA would sanction both events for the same dates.

Yarg! From no matches to two matches on the same weekend in different directions.

I'd love to go to Ottawa (I have friends there I could stay with and visit) but would have to go western if forced to choose.

Kudos though for setting up an Eastern Championship. The Western was a riot last year.

Actually three matches the same weekend! The Eastern, The Western and the Driller's.

Last I talked to GT, he said it looks really good with lots of help to run the Western side, thanks to the TR crowd of HR and FL and lots of others stepping up to help with stats, donations, etc.

Super happy to see the Eastern's a go! Nicely done.

The Canadian Eastern Regional F Class match, is in conjunction with NCRRA Long Range challenge, which has been shot the July 1 st weekend for 20 years. We will be having TR shooters in conjunction with the F Class shooters as the TR shooters have always left for England (Bisley) on the following week. This match is being organized by the F class portion of the NCRRA with the support of TR shooters.

Well done Barry,

I'll be there, but to keep those Van Dyes boys away from me will ya. Spotting them points,
Ha.

Norm you need not to spot any POINTS with your BOO/BOO on Thursday evening around 8.pm when the flags are pointing straite at the ground, just give me few INCHES in the 5 shot group.at 900m, like how about 10" and if I win, you have to stop calling my gun the "MOUSE GUN" And for 2011 You will refer it as "The Super Deuce". and if your group is winner I will buy you breakfast at Ralph,s Sat morning 7.00am
now if you want to up the anti, my ears are open?

Did I miss something?! I know that the westerns were planned for that weekend for Vokes, but since that got kiboshed I did not know we had a for sure location and date???

Great to hear it's coming together Barry. Always looked forward to this weekend in Connaught.
The growing numbers of matches available for shooters is a good sign of interest and growth. It has always been a challenge for anyone planning a match to try and do so without some conflict in timing. Too few "non snow covered" weekends in the Canadian season to choose from.
Maybe these can encourage and promote attendance to the CFRC matches in August
and as well assist in building the base for the Canadian Team for the World's in 2013.
Maybe as part of an awards program a voucher towards Match Fees at the Nationals??
Just a thought.

Hi Barry,

Congratulations!!!! Count me in. I'll make the trip up for that one, especially since I know you won't be handing out shot glasses for prizes. I'll need my Summer Mongoose burger by then.

Bob

Awesome Barry! To bad about the dates but we're far enough apart to serve both regions adequately. Those that couldn't get to the other end now have a venue closer to home. It's now the ones in the middle that have a choice to make. My only regret is; now it's going to be pretty tough to hit you up for a donation for the Prize Table.....eh?
Cheers, Glen

hey bob pastor

its great to here that you will be making it up i am sure the mongoose will be hungry as well for a little snake venom lol..

be sure to bring some of your southern friends up with you. Darin
