F Class in Kingston, ON

I attended an intro day here 2 seasons ago. The only thing holding me up from joining are the following: 2 new kids, 7 months and 2y7months. (nothing you can do about that ;)

However, Kingston is the only range that I can make it to and fit it in with my work/home schedule. When I look at the ORA schedule more often than not the kingston events are cancelled. So I'm all in for helping but not really interested in not getting bang for the buck. So what do you think?

All Dave needs is at least 5 committed people that will show up for every practice. Guys can't wait until the last minute to decide if they are coming out. Kingston charges the ORA for Range Control when there is a shoot on. Their rules state you must have 5 people to run a practice. If only 4 show up if costs the ORA something like $200 and Range Control will cancel the shoot, too bad-so sad.
Most of the shooters down Cedar Springs way drive at least 1 hour to get to the range. A poor turn out is 6 shooters, a good day is 10-12. We hire markers and beach sentries so the shooters have more time to shoot and not run targets or act a sentries. Maybe Kingston needs to look at hiring markers to reduce the number of shooters needed to run a practice. Someone must know a teenager or two in the area that could use a few bucks? Shooters pay $15 each max for the target markers for the day. I have never heard anybody ##### that $15 was too much.

Well had a talk with Dave tonight looks like we have some renewed interest and new interest, with the new lower price tag I am going to sign up and a couple of shooting buds as well should be a go in Kingston this year if we can get the range time.

I have got the ORA posters now...

I will put them up at FRPC (if they let me) once I can write the dates on them to let people know it's available.

So, where in the area can a guy set up a tent trailer close to the range for any weekend shoots? This is one reason I don't go to Kingston for matches. The other reason is the 6 hour drive each way, which won't be too bad if I didn't have to drive through Toronto to get there:bangHead:

If you can only get 4 shooters, hire someone's kid as a target marker to round out the 5th person. Everyone pitches in $12.50 for the marker, the kid walks away with $50 for the day and you get shooting time.

Max, thanks for the heads up on the campground.

762nato, thanks for the offer. Which direction are you from the range. I usually travel to shoots with 3-4 other guys and my pop-up trailer is 22ft long.

I'd love to shoot at CFB Kingston some weekend. I'd drive the 2+ hours to do it as well. I work 12's so every other weekend I'd be off, unless I'm sent out of country for a week or so on business. I've spent quite a few weekends at Rideu Acres Campground. Nice big lots and very family oriented. Just watch out for the ducks. LOL!

I am in for sure

I just filled out the Membership form and wrote the check. The more people we get the less likely we will have to cancel due to lack of participants.

Time to start loading up the good stuff!!!!!

I just sent in mine aswell, looking forward to getting back into the longer range stuff. What you going to shoot this year 556???

I am going to use the Remington 700P in the McMillan A5 stock and the nightforce scope. 308 treated me well and since I bought 1000 Lapua Scenar bullets a couple years ago I have lots of projectiles. I will also bring out the 223 Rem 700 P as well.

I am preping the Lapua cases right now
