Anyone know if equipment lists are compiled from any competitor survey for the just completed F Class matches. (barrels, actions , optics, stocks etc )

You name it it was there. No rhyme or reason. The only common theme was in ftr. No matter where in the world the shooter was from they either shot 200 or 185 juggernauts at or near 2750. And powder choice was varget

Although it would be interesting to see the equipment list(mostly what's not on it anymore). I'd bet 80-90% of the rifles there were capable of winning regardless of what they were put together with, it won't save anyone who misses the wind/conditions by 1-3moa or pulls bad shots.
Its all coming down to marksmanship/shooter, something that kinda got forgotten about by many(and me) in the equipment race and a big reason why I switched to TR recently, its all marksmanship and I need to improve that a lot more than anything on my rifle or reloading.

I'm pretty sure lots of competitors had rifles that could have taken first place but the conditions in Ottawa are quite tough to read so a mediocre shooter had no chance even with the best equipment.

If you look at the scores it is obvious when the conditions were good and if you compare scores it's easy to see who the top guys are consistency is everything and those who placed on top did well in all conditions because they knew how to read them.

And for equipment probably a mix of everything was on the line and I think any well setup rifle had a chance given the driver could steer them right

As with many matches regardless of discipline some relays got little to no condition so they got to see if there load was 100% other relays it was all the same old carp that make us look bad and we complain about it. "Our relay had 4 major wind changes. 1 shot, I was left 4moa the next I was 4moa right and still shot two 1s. Out either side. The flags all lie. Man this range sucks" I think that sums it up. The good shooter/reloader will always be just that. On top. No matter what gear he has or how much money he has in it. Some times we have the hi polished Bat action not because to makes us better shooters it pride in owner ship. We all want the Ferrari. But in reality some just get the old beater and they still win the race.

How did the sponsored Vortex scopes perform?

I would expect that they performed quite well ( Cyanide on here used one and his results were excellent ). I have one of the Golden Eagle scopes and while the glass is not S+B or Kahles it is comparable to NF Comp - actually, FWIW, it is all-around comparable to the Comp but at about a G note cheaper -. They do darken a bit at the highest mag ( 60x ) but otherwise they are good scopes. Hopefully one of the match users can chime in.

I am lead to believe that at least 3 crapped out. One had the reticle fall out and the others has issues holding zero's. A March also was rumoured to have fallen apart too. I gather from comments that scope issues were a big problem and probably why Peter asked the question.

WOW ! And the best warranty in the World is pretty cold comfort when a scope fails at a match (especially the World Championship) or on a once-in-a-lifetime hunt. Touch wood, mine is problem free !

OK, I was fishing and understand sponsored shooters would not want to comment negatively. Team member advised of four new Vortex failures and as mentioned, one Nightforce which happened to be 3 years old and one March, age unknown.

Very interesting indeed. I know Vortex is suspect at lower models but was hopeful that the GE would be nearer the Razor / AMG level of QC. I doubt anyone was using Sightron but I'd like to see some data on their QC versus Vortex as they often compete at the same price point.
