My question revolves around the use of reduced size targets for F class practice where you either do not have a range available for 500,600,800,900m. Or want to practice multiple distances without moving target boards/butts.
Given the unique nature of calling wind, seeing through mirage, actual ballistics at the upper ranges I'm not assuming that these reduced size targets will make me proficient at the longer ranges I'm just looking at something that can be used for practice.
I'm first working on the premise that ICFRA dimension targets are used in competition here in Canada as I believe the DCRA dimensions are being phased out.
I'm secondly limited to about 300m working distance.
Next using those dimensions does it make sense to reduce by a factor of
(300m/500m=500m reduced target for 300m) or 3/5ths the size for a 500m target at 300m range?
Is my thought process correct? Is this actually going to benefit given that the reduced target should be more difficult at 300m?
What are the CGN community thoughts? Does anyone do something different? Have any suggestions?
I've googled and found some PDFs from accurateshooter and snipershide but is there something better out there?
