FA m14 trigger group parts.

the original usgi disconnector has a wing on the right hand side. That is the only part of the trigger group that has any mechanical contact with the FUN bits.

the FUN bits..... are contained in the connector rod, selector switch and the reciever has a vertical flange at the selector switch location that links it all together, as well as a groove in the receiver at the front under the oprod channel that supports and retains the connector rod. Inside is a bar or tab that interfaces with the wing on the side of the diconnector when full auto is selected or does not if semi auto is selected. Incidentally, it is the connector rod and oprod that enable the full auto disconnector "trip" bar to function.
I think i got that right :D

my friend...... you must get this book.... it IS the m14 bible ...... especially if you are planning on designing a m14 stock from the ground up..... or anyhting else you wanted to know or do.

What Thomas said ...
the only R&R specific part in the 14 trigger group is the trigger/sear itself.

There is a wider tip on the sear that interfaces with the go faster parts in the receiver leg.

NEW Beretta/Breda Italian GI Garand triggers and hammers ARE available from Italy, with no hassle from US or canuckistan customs, and the Italian stuff works just luverly, so there is no point attempting to import US GI M14 hammer/trigger bits from the US. Most such parts available on today's US market are either worn out, "reproductions", or totally insanely overpriced.

Although, back in the goodoldays, ALL the FA bits were easily available, and cheap .... BTDT.

PS: Some time I'll tell you a funny story about Canadian Customs and M-14 parts ...
