Fabarm 11" or 14"

I'd say go with the 14". The difference in length is neglible, and an extra shell is always good. Plus, with the bead sight you can easily put it in a scabbard on your back. More comfy.

Do you know any 00 buckshot that allows you to get the 4 in tube on the 11"?

I assume the 11" spread will be larger than the 14"? Or will this be negligible?

I don’t use buckshot really as I bought this gun specifically to be carried while bowhunting and therefore load it only with 2 3/4" Brenneke slugs.

Don't they come with chokes?
Choke has more effect on spread the barrel length.

Which stocks are on the guns you are considering?
Pistol grip or traditional?

They come with fixed chokes and according to the Fabarm site they are cylinder. When I bought both the 14" and 11" I was told they were modified chokes (same as my Benelli M4, which is unreal accurate). My fault for not researching a bit deeper. Either way I am still glad I have the 11" version. It’s so compact.

Yea I was in the same boat. I couldn’t decide. Here’s why I chose the 11":
True, the extra length is relatively negligible, but shorter is always better for my needs and I carried both before deciding which one was the keeper. The 14" comes with a head shield. I took this off to slim it up a bit. As you will notice, this is useless unless you are running drills or shooting lots of rounds. If you are running drills then it’s a nice touch as it keeps the barrel from burning you (and it weights basically nothing as it’s aluminum). The LPA rear sight on the 14" is quick-detach and mounted on that picatinny rail. Great if you are planning on running a red-dot or similar sight, but not so great otherwise. I found with my gun (and my friend’s exact same 14" models) that the rear LPA sight mounted on the rail causes the POI to be significantly high. Even when bottoming out the rear sight and raising the front post all the way up, it still didn’t quite fix the problem. Mind you this was at close ranges (out to 60’ or so), and before anybody argues this point, my 870P w/ Scattergun Tech ghost rings was bang-on in the same situation.
The 11" has the same LPA rear sight as the 14" only it’s mounted directly to the receiver. This is great cause it lowers the POI. And overall the 11" is just a smaller tighter package, and after throwing on the SGA stock, albeit heavy, it really tightened things up.

Here’s the specs on both:

14" Fabarm w/ factory stock (12.5" LOP) = 32.75" (832 mm) OAL
11" Fabarm w/ factory stock (14" LOP) = 31" (787 mm) OAL
11" Fabarm w/ SGA stock (13" LOP) & S&J sling plate = 30.1" (765 mm) OAL

Hope that helps.

So the 11" comes with the ghost ring sights like the pic in post #15. I was thinking of using a scabbard of some sort. Are these sights going to be catching and not allow shotgun to be pulled quickly? Or should they be okay...perhaps with some "rigging"

The 14" comes with only bead sight at front and nothing else. Obviously yes would slip out easier.

This helps a lot...thanks. So the difference between completely stock 11 and 14 inches is only 1 3/4 ". Gee that isn't much. When I shouldered the two, I did seem to like the 11".

So the 870 Rem SGA stock fits the Fabarm pumps? Any coaxing or modding of the stock or stock insert required?

My point exactly. The GRS may snag on the inside of the scabbard at the worst possible moment.

The S&J 870/ Fabarm adapter is required to fit the SGA on the rear. The MOE fore end fits as well, but it will require modification to fit. I posted a thread on fitting the Magpul stocks to a Fabarm a few months back.

The difference is (14-11).
3"

Not according to pazzo with factory stocks
14" Fabarm w/ factory stock (12.5" LOP) = 32.75" (832 mm) OAL
11" Fabarm w/ factory stock (14" LOP) = 31" (787 mm) OAL
11" Fabarm w/ SGA stock (13" LOP) & S&J sling plate = 30.1" (765 mm) OAL

The shorter length of pull stock on the 14" is what's messing with you.
With the same stock on both guns the difference is 3 Inches.

The 1.5" is lost in the stock. The 14" comes with a shorter 12.5" LOP pistol grip stock; the 11" comes with a full-length 14" LOP stock (similar to Remington 870, etc).

Just out of curiosity...I suppose the two stocks would be interchangeable with each other?

I forgot to mention…

The difference in OAL between the 14" and 11" models is 2.65" when using the SGA stock (with the shortest LOP setting) on the 11" Fabarm. This is because the SGA can only be shortened to a 13" LOP whereas the 14" model comes with the 12.5" LOP pistol grip stock.

If you were to install the SGA with 13" LOP on the 14" Fabarm it would increase OAL to 33.25" (vs 32.75" with factory pistol grip stock) and increase weight by quite a bit. I left my 14" exactly how it came to keep it as small and light as possible. I only removed the heat shield (*edit* I also removed that silly spring assist thing in both models as well).

The 11" comes with a full-length 14" LOP field stock, which is just too long for my liking (and too close in OAL to the 14" model). It kind of defeats the purpose of having a short shotgun. So I sacrificed weight for length and threw the SGA on.

Well thanks to everyone on here...especially Pazzo who I pestered with pm's non stop for 3 days.
I am the owner of an 11" fabarm. I won't get a chance to play with until this weekend. I'll post up some pics when i get a chance.
Thanks again,
Don
