I really like the 14" fabarm's, but I was just wondering what the mag capacity is??
Also for all of those who own one or who have ever shot one, what are some things that you like about it, as well as things that you don't like? Its going to be used mainly for backpacking and such, so short and light is a must.
Thanks for your help.

Short and light it is. VERY light.

What I liked - everything.
What I didn't like - nothing. It's fantastic. I owned a Martial Pro Forces - you will find none better.

Capacity is 5 in the tube, +1 in the chamber.

Not all 2 3/4" are created equal, but most will fit 5 in the tube of my 14" fabarm.

Slugs will most often fit 5 + 1, and that is what really matters. :D

Ya the only thing I have to decide on is to go with either the regular stock or the pistol grip. Does anyone find one better than the other. They are basically the same weight, and price does not matter. But add $100 to the pistol grip.

The pistol grip is really comfortable to shoot. If you're using it for backpacking though I would go with the regular stock. Also, depending on whether you're going to be actually carrying it in a backpack or in the open, you might want to decide between a bead sight and ghost rings. Beautiful guns though. I just shot mine yesterday in the bush.

Mine came standard with the pistol grip and front and back F/O sights with a ghost ring... nice shotty, very light, great fun to shoot. 5+1.

Loved mine except I found the stock short. I believe though the newer versions can be had with a stock extender that fits between the stock and receiver to increase its length by an inch or so????? Correct me if im wrong

Personally, I prefer the regular stock over the pistol grip 'cause it fits me better. Fondle both to see what you fits you before buying.
IMO the foregrip needs to be replaced with a short one and a set of ghost ring sights installed.

The Pro Forces stocks are about 2" shorter than the standard stocks. There are spacers available that fit between the recoil padd and stock (5mm or 10mm) and they are stackable.

It was pointed out to me when I took a police influenced style shotgun course recently that police shooting involves the shooter being more squared off and elbow down to the target rather than body angled like you find with hunting rifle and possibly trap shooting. When you assume that sort of posture and put the pad of the stock more into your muscle of the chest just below the collar bone the shorter stock makes a LOT of sense. The reason being so you don't have to reach WAAAAYYYYY forward to the pump grip.

One of my projects on my list is to SHORTEN my own stock for this reason on my police/fun (sorry I refuse to use "tactical" :D) shottie 870. And I'm a big guy with long arms.

So try altering your stance. The Fabarm should be set up for this style and I think you'll find it suddenly makes a heap of sense.

I bought a fabarm for bear defense while working in the bush. I have been completely happy with it except one thing... I can only fit four 2 3/4 slugs in the magazine. I have found a remedy though, you can shave off the little plastic lip protruding above the lead on the shotshells and get 5 in. Is this normal for shotguns that they fit one less slug than buckshot shells?

I find myself only being able to put four 2 3/4 shells in my fabarm as well  How are you guys getting 5 in, without of course shaving the shells? :(

I get 5 but 4 is what I do for reliability...Mine does not cycle 3inch that well either unless the shells are high brass. I don't really care because 3inch are brutal

I must admit I have yet to try to push in that 5th round hard, I just assumed that when it doesn't go in smoothly, it's a 4 + 1.

Probably one of the best backpacking guns out there. Light and cpmpact.

The forward assist on the pump has it's good and bad though. Good thing about certain shotty's that don't have it (Moss 590/500; Rem 870) are the ability to quickly chamber a shell by inserting it through the ejection port.

My fabarm doesn't have the assist. Different brands of shells give me 4+1 or 5+1 in 2 3/4" of course.

No pistol grip for me.

I love the long forearms on them. I hated the tiny little one on my mossy 500, and that's why I got the fabarm. GREAT little shotgun

The spring is removeable. I personally don't like them and remove them from my guns.
