Not to hijack any of the other Fabarm threads on the go....

I just bought another Martial Pro Forces (14in of course) and am still pondering the addition of a muzzle brake. Are they worth getting in terms of reducing recoil? The looks-cool-factor is definately there but are they as functional as they are beautiful (and yes, I think those muzzle brakes are a thing of beauty :D) ?

On the weekend I only shot a couple slugs without the brake. Then I shot a whole bunch with it. I still need to do a direct one after the other testing to see the difference.

With the brake you're still going to feel the 3" slugs; but my impression is that it takes a bit off it. It's not going to turn it into a pussy cat, but I think it's doing something. If you shoot from the hip the pressure wave hits your face a bit. Kinda fun.

Sorry I can't give you a straight-up answer. Like I said, I need to shoot it more with and without to give a real comparison.

Judging on how light these shotguns are (I've handled them and it's a big reason why I wanted one) and looking at the crappy little pad on the end of the buttstock - I am going to safely assume that the muzzle brake will make no difference ;). I am not even going to try shooting 3" anything for fun from it.

As mentioned earlier (in another post) I think it is more of a breeching device; looks cool too.
