Fabarm cought my attention, I still do not have 12g anything and thought maybe Fabarm will fill the requirement. How accurate is it shooting slugs? And generally how well made is it? Also I heard their stock reduces recoil by 95% - is it true? Generally I need your opinion gentlemen.

Is there any particular model you're talking about? Fabarm makes a wide variety of shotguns for a variety of purposes. I would imagine that they are just as accurate as any other shotgun, with the same barrel length, for shooting slugs. Also, I don't think there is a stock in existence that can reduce recoil by 95%.
 
sorry for a bit of misinformation. I think the model I have seen is something like this

The Shooting Edge...look up in the banner section for link. Also their supporting dealers, such as Target Sports, would carry the product line.

Fabarms, highly recommend it. For the OEM telescopic (NRS) stock, it is non-recoiling. If you want the SpecOps recoiling stock, you will have to purchase an adapter to allow the SG to fit the Rem SpecOps stock, which you will have to purchase after market.

With the REM adapter and the SpecOps recoiling stock, your looking at adding over $200 to the price of the Fabarms.

If you really want the SpecOps recoiling stock, I would recommend purchasing the Fabarms Pro Forces (fixed stock) without the telescopic stock and replace it. This will save you some dollars over buying the telescopic (NRS) version.
 
These are great... I owned the Martial, which is a plain jane blade sighted 14" shotgun. My biggest gripe is that I really wanted iron sights. So I sold it, and will keep the option open to get one with the iron sights, I believe it would be the Tactical. That is my advise, buy one with the iron sights... TSE sells them ,so does Shooting Sports just north of Toronto. $599 for the Martial, $729? for the tactical...
 
Go for it, I love mine. They are very well made! I have a 14" Martial Pro-Forces. Short easy to handle Non-restricted with 5 shot capacity. You can get the 20" SDAS pump or a semi SAT-8 if thats your thing as well. :) Can't go wrong with a Fabarm no matter which model you choose. :shotgun: :D
 
I like my Martial G/R sights, with slugs at 100 yards I have been able to keep a 4-5 inch group ( Now that I figured out that the front blade is also adjustable) I bought the telescoping Knoxx to go with it but I am thinking of selling it to stick with the original stock because I am not too sure about the feel of the big pistol grip. The recoil pad is non existent on the Knoxx, but I learned that the muzzle break does make a huge difference. I shot the martial with and without the break using the Knoxx stock, with the break on I could shoot 20-30 slugs, next time out without the break I was done at 5 slugs.
 
A friend of mine that works for Westjet now has an Lion H38

Now, I'm not big on the duck hunter variety, but I was blown away how reliable his shotty was, with a large variety of loads from cheap #### 7-1/2 to 00. It has the added bonus of not getting frightened looks from old codgers when I just want to shoot trap.

Only hitch with it: after firing 20 or so rounds, disassembly became difficult. The gun had to be allowed to cool down to break apart and pack away.


I don't see how wrong you could go with a tacticool model from the same mfg. They make nice stuff.
 
+1 on the H38 Lion Hunter
i have one with a 24" barrell and mag extension. if you're going for a waterfoul or upland bird gun, try and get the model with the 83mm (?) chokes as you can put steel shot through the full choke no worries .

the H38 didnt have any sort of fancy recoil reduction like an extrema2 has, but really, how hard does a 12g recoil .. i shoot over 600 rounds in a hunting season usually and no brusing or sore shoulders or anything that people complain about .. just do more :jerkit: :D build up those arms n shoulder muscles

did i forget to mention that it cycles flawlessly, has an amazing fit and finish, looks beautiful in its wood bloomers, and is light as anything

Ah, Fenix, slugs still pound my shoulder pretty bad, despite a lot of exercise. I guess I will be getting one with muzzle break and if that is not enough I will think about knoxx recoiling stock.

will let you use the rem 870 knoxx stock on any pump or semi Fabarm shotgun.

How do you adjust the front sight, I did not know this could be done. This may help me because I am near the end of elavation adjustment on the rear sight.

There is a small allen head screw on the top near the end of the blade. This adjusts the height of the blade.

nah i know what you mean with slugs, they can knock you round a bit, 2 3/4" slugs arent too bad though usually

if you are using 3.5" slugs.. well.. its your own fault haha
 
I have the SDASS Trainer in nickel finish. I love it. Built quality and finish are excellent. The only minus is that the forend can leave marks on the receiver. I've put 3M translucent protective sheet on mine.
 
... Now, I don't own one, and I've never held one. But man those guys make a tough looking shotgun. I think I'm sold. Fabarms it is. I can't get over that tactical. so hot.
 
I didn't know about this either but after many rounds shooting 12" high a 100 yds I stared at the front knowing that there had to be a trick to it. The adjuster looks more like a rivet and is easily overlooked but you can use a .050 allen to adjust up and down.
