I'm toying with the idea of removing the giant-sight setup from my SAT-8; K.I.S.S.

I know there are beads and small blades available but they are almost useless on this with the shorter barrel and lack of rib.

Thoughts?

Why would a bead or blade front sight be useless? Doesn't one of the Fabarm 14"er come with just a bead? Sure it would work just fine on a long barreled SAT-8.

I would be interested in your sights if you do remove them.

Well, a bead on the above barrels would be invisible, no? Unless it was on a base. A taller blade would be visible.

Anyway, I've decided on a blade to replace the tall-front post. I now need to find one.

Edited to add:

In my original post, I was curious as to why Fabarm makes models with no sight system at all; I was wanting feedback from anyone who owned one what shooting was like (Would one just look down the receiver?)
I'd like to hear from people who own one of these sightless models.

Cheers~

The first Fabarm 14" I owned had the short blade and it was incredibly accurate.

I always make sure I have a good solid cheek-weld, but I sold the gun because to properly use the sight, my cheekbone was always right on the stock and that was very unpleasant for me. I mostly shoot slugs, so I always left the range with a big painful welt on my cheekbone.

I bought the exact same gun with the LPA sights and it's perfect. Gets my face up just high enough to not get my cheekbone smashed and still get a great cheek-weld.
