I checked out a FABARM SDASS the other day. I really liked the fit, the feel, and general handling of this shotgun. The sights were pretty good too.

Does anyone have any experience with this shotgun? Warantee issues, accessories etc.

Just wondering

Hey all,

I'm going to resurrect this topic. Has anyone had any experience with the Fabarm SDASS Pro Forces? How reliable is it? Are parts and modification easy to obtain?

Many thanks for your input.

I just sold one. I loved the gun. Always went bang when I wanted it to. It is set up nice from the factory and if thats all you want to do to it then awesome bang for the buck. If you want to mod the thing in any way? Now you have problems. Very limited after market for these things. I had a one issue of fit. For me the oversized forgrip was a pain for any accessories you mounted on the left side of the receiver. The foregrip covers 3/4 of the action when the action is open.

All in all? The forward assisst sping can help cause a short stroking problem for less trained people, but is a nice feature for the experienced among us.

I really like mine. SDASS 14 inch. Very well made gun. I've had zero issues with mine. I've only run about 800 rounds of various loads through it. Has the heat sheild which is not needed, but looks cool. I like the Knoxx stock and LPA sights. I also removed the spring assist. Just didn't like it. I had no intension of modding it out, so the lack of accessories didn't matter to me. I just really like the stock look of the gun. The only thing I added was the bottom forend rail. I have no regrets with mine and have been very happy with it.

I've had a couple. Sold my first one to fund another purchase, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of the one I have now. SDASS 14" with Knoxx adjustable stock.
Very nice shotgun. Super-light and comfortable.
I love the extended fore-end so much that conventional pumps no longer feel right to me. I even have extremely long arms, but every time I shoulder any conventional pump shotgun, I feel way too stretched out and uncomfortable. The extended fore-end on the Fabarm obviously allows you to grip the pump much closer in. Some guys don't like this because when the pump is pulled in, it blocks the loading port, but this is a sacrifice I'll gladly make any day.

I want one with an 18" bbl now too.

if you dont like the space age large forend they have small traditional cob style forends as well. Try a dealer they should be able to hook you up. as for accessories you can get a rail for the forend for a light, top is ready for optics, you might have trouble putting on your laser designator + 6 round mag extension though....

I was in the same position a couple years ago OP- with even less feedback available on these as there is now. Way I see it the action is pretty much like an 870 but its a bit lighter. only thing that sucks is the feed ramp go in and fondle one and see if you like it I dont. heat shield ripped off mine is a wonderfully light KISS camping paranoia defense gun

14" shotgun with chokes!
chrome lined bbl
great soft recoil pad

forward assist spring = a feature you can completely ignore if you like and I sure do.

How did you take your heat sheild off?

I didn't mind the spring assisted pump, but eventually removed the spring to make it easier to load one into the chamber, and if you're shooting at the range, you can leave the chamber open rather than having to stick a flag in there.
The threaded muzzle is great too. I got a full choke for mine and the breaching attachment for :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:s and giggles.
Also got the rail on the fore-end and mounted a light on it.

I love my Fabarm. I've done some pretty rediculous stuff with it in the past, but right now its my go to shotgun:

The SGA really needed the cheek riser though
