The tristar cobra i have hear says made in turkey and its the same as the escort i have hear.
parts and stocks fit
 
Does anyone know whether the threaded barrel of the Hatsan Escort MP would accept any chokes, and if so, where they could be found? I've read somewhere the barrel external thread profile is M22x0.75, like the Saiga-12, if that is any help.

:eek::bangHead: thanks guys! Now I don't know what I want again! Does anyone know if there is a shop within a couple hours of the Durham region that stocks fabarm and hatsan as well as a selection of other tactical shotguns? I think I need to see my options in person side by side. When I've gone looking so far I have come across very limited stock so I can't get my sh*t hooks into the stuff I've read about. I even went to bass pro(ya, I know), they don't have much in the way of tactical stuff but I did at least get to handle a 870, mossberg 500 and a benelli nova. I have to say they felt cheap compared to the fabarm but that doesn't mean they won't function as well. The problem I had with the fabarm stuff was a huge lack of knowledge, no one knew the difference between the models or if there were any other options other than the three on the shelf, fabarm's website isn't any help either. The hatsan stuff looks good but where do I go to look at there offerings? I found some on line retailers and one shop that stocks them (thanks plink) but I really want to hold one before I buy, the shop that sells them is a 5 hour round trip from my house so it's a last resort.
 
My only suggestion is because you know what the Fabarm is like already, that you drive to that place I sent you and play with a Hatsan, and then drop by my place, as it's close and play with one of my 870's.

On a slightly different note, what barrel length do you suggest? I was having a hard time choosing between 18" and 14".
 
OK, besides posing with the thing in a mirror, what do you plan to do with it? 18" will barely be usable for clays, but ok for some hunting.

18 or 14" are both great for general blasting of terrorist beer cans and such.. :D
 
The terrorist beer can thing pretty much nails it! Although I'm open to other usages. I can't see myself hunting but I'm all for any sort of target/action type activity. I looked around a bit and it looks like it you can get an extended choke, about 3-4", for it to help broaden it's usages. The door breacher looks way better on the the end of it though...
 
I'm going to head over to target sports later this week and try one out (thanks Joe:cheers:) I don't think I need much convincing at this point, fabarm doesn't seem to be very well know here but the people that own them love them. I like dealing with target sports as well, the staff has been very patient with me and they're the ones that got me into guns to start with.
 
Just bought myself the Martial ProForces 14" today from Targets. All I can say is the beast is sweet and purdy too. I too have been fondling the idea of a fabarm for the past 2 months and after this thread I thought I would jump on their last martial before 12.6envy does. Sorry man but I got the drop on it.

I got the Martial Proforces, the 14" barrel with pistol grip stock, LPA ghost sights and heat shield. Its funny cuz before you had this thread up I keep going to targets to look and play with it then I saw one for sale at williams arms in port perry but they sold it before I had a chance to get it. But in all fairness they had it preowned for 795$ and targets had it listed for $775 so I had to get it. I am not to sure if they can get this model anymore. I haven't seen it on the fabarms site for a while now. Good luck in your search. Once I get my camera back I will post pics and a small range report.

This is very true, but I figured for a shottie that comes with everything people want to upgrade on, why waste my time and get it all in one package.

Ouch! That's the exact one I was looking at! There is another one that is close to the same, if my memory is correct, with an expandable stock but it's a bit out of my price range. Oh well, if they can't get more I'll start the search again.
 
I had the 14" Martial Pro Forces and that thing was a beautiful shotgun. You'll hear people say that there isn't a lot of aftermarket goodies for them but the way they come stock you get a shotgun that doesn't need anything. Add a tactical light and be done with it. They are very sweet guns. I regret selling mine but I needed the money :(

This is nice to. $610 in the ee(if bfiles doesn't run over and buy it today:HR:) new but I've got myself all wound up about the fabarm now, First thing I have to do is talk to target sports and see if they can get another of the one I lost out on. It's not on fabarm's sit anymore so I'm guessing I'm sol. Maybe they'll give me a deal on the fancy collapsable stock model since I provoked the sale of the other one;)
