Fabarm STF/12 Initial, 11" Shorty Shotgun Review

I believe the muzzle brake comes with a 'choke' to make the brake/breacher screw in and the other is Cylinder Bore. If you didn't buy other chokes, there aren't any besides Cylinder Bore, from what I understand.

Fabarm Complete Door Breacher kit for STF 12

Product Features

Kit Contains,

Breaching Break, w black finish.
Extended Inner HP Accuracy Choke to attach the Brake.

I got an email from the TSE's gunsmith (who Ive been told is the man to ask). Like you said, he stated the "inner HP" choke that comes with the shotgun and supports the muzzle brake is a Cylinder, safe to fire slugs through. But oddly, stated the other choke which has no muzzle brake thread, that also comes with the shotgun is more like a Modified, which you cant shoot slugs through. Whats odd is that the provided parts diagram that comes with the shotgun labels this choke as E-340 (HP CYL.)... which id normally assume means the choke is a Cylinder as well ?? Im kind of pissed off now that Fabarm doesnt make important information like this more readily available !

I suggest you takes some pics of your chokes and then post another thread in this section about this and you'll definitely find an answer. Both are supposed to be Cylinder, from my understanding. If you got an actual Inner HP Modified Choke in the package, you got a good deal (if it actually is a Mod choke, PM me if you want to sell it).

I can't say for sure as my Initial didn't ship with the brake or any chokes. Usually an 'unchoked' barrel is Cyl, if mine does have an inner choke installed, it's definitely Cyl.

Fabarm's info is a little confusing...

Found it in the manual! both are suppose to be Cylindrical, which makes sense. Looks like Fabarm makes 3 different STF 12 chokes.... the IN/OUT HP = ?? , INNER HP (what comes with the shotguns I guess) = Cylindrical, and EXIS HP = ?? thanks for the convenient names Fabarms :HR:

I'm wondering if any STF/12 owners who bought some chokes, can state whether they like the performance with them on this super short 11" barrel...

50 yards stadning, slugs (i roll my own, lyman type slug 481gr)

5 shots, group of 3 touching, and group of 2 touching. about 2.5" centre to centre.

Very happy with this shotgun.

Shot my 16" STF 12 ONCE today without ear protection...., definitely will NOT be doing that again! I thought my SVT 40 was loud, this shotgun totally surpasses it.

I sold my 590A1, 870,KSG, 930 and now left with hatsan semi and stf/12

I dont think i will sell the stf but the hatsan is going up for sale :)

I liked the 590A1 but was little to much in terms of size and weight.

Should find a nice 590A1 shorty... they're not that heavy and still fit 5 in the tube. The 20" model with the bayonet is heavy. I had the 18.5" w/5rd tube and I thought the weight and balance was superb.

I was thinking about the 14" conversion but shotgun + conversion, decided to add a little more and get stf when the reviews started popping up.

I know it is a bit of a necro post but is there a reason why you have the brake installed upside down? That would explain the burning on the mag extension. I'm guessing one needs to use crush washers to install the breacher brake?

No it actually just threads onto the end of a choke (which threads into the barrel like any other choke)
