Fabarm STF12 Compact Initial

So the cheaper one has a peep and a bead?

You bet (I'm not a TSE employee, but I was in there checking them out a week ago)

I found the railed version much easier to get a sight picture, for me, the stock is high to get a cheek weld and actually see the bead in the rear sight, I really had to 'scrunch' my head down to see the sights. That being said, I have a 14" STF and I love the ghost ring sights on the rail.

Is it a fiber optic bead on the cheaper one? Capacity I'm guessing is 4+1? Also, the cheaper one must have a shorter OAL without the brake...

Looks like the railed version has a +1 extension due to the extra length of the brake??? Maybe these pictures are playing tricks with my eyes.

http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192059 Here' a link to a site showing the breakdown of the railed version . Hope this helps . I like the shorter OAL as this is not a hunting shotgun and I won't be breaching any doors in the near future .

The railed version definitely has an extension:

Same peep/fiber LPA sights (fantastic sights) as my Pro Forces:

I'm still leaning towards the shorter base version but I'd like to confirm what kind of front sight it has... plain old bead or is it a fiber hi-rez?

I think YouTube just answered my question about the bead sight... looks like a plain old white bead (closer to a pistol front sight) but I think that'll work for me. That two-tone version looks like a beauty! If you understand Italian you may learn more.

Guys,

We are just finalizing our prices for 2016. We also preordered at SHOT some of the new telescopic versions. They are sweeeeeeeeeet!

With the telescopic, we can get teh 11" barre; and still be non-restricted.

Given we only lost about 7% on the Euro last year, we are hoping to keep prices as close as possible to 2015.

We looked the the NATO shotgun trials held last year (they wouldn't let us copy them - boo hoo) and the STF12 really kicked ass.

It really is an impressive shotgun.

To answer the question; I have no plans on bringing in the restricted versions of this shotgun.

Cheers,

JR

This is a ###y beast, isn't it?

I think the Nickel Compact Initial looks the best of all...

Okay, I couldn't take it any longer and ordered a Compact Initial.

Just to let you guys know, the website is very slow and I got "Service Unavailable" about 3x as I was trying to order... Hopefully I only bought one

humm... interesting. Keep the 590A1 or sell it and buy an STF12....

I have a 14" 590A1, a 14" Fabarm Pro Forces and now a 11" STF/12 coming... no need to sell anything. If you have a 14" 590A1 you'll probably get more than you paid on the EE, as no more of these are coming in, from what I've been reading. Comparing the Fabarm to the Mossberg is night and day... both work as they're supposed to but the Fabarm also has the fit/finish to match. The 590A1 is workmanlike and the finish leaves a little to be desired.

If the STF/12 is as good as the Pro Forces (I'm sure it'll be even better), I'll be very pleased.

20" 590 unfortunately. Got it for the 8+1 capacity but damn that thing is heavy. Its still a weapon when its empty. Thats why im looking at the 11" stf but $1,300 is pretty steep for a pump action 12ga.

It is, but you get what you pay for. Also, with so few in country, I don't think you'll lose any money on an STF/12 if you decide to sell it on the EE. I go on the EE regularly and have never seen an STF/12 ever listed for sale. A 20" 590 is plentiful here but the shorty shotguns are not.

Getting a little off topic here, but if the shell capacity is the sticking point, 4+1 or 5+1 may not do it for you.

I may opt to get the breacher and +1 extension in the future for my Compact Initial... will have to see what I think after I receive it.
