Hmm the nut appears to be totaly round, but it has a slot in it, like a giant flat head screwdriver might fit in it, it is a martial pro forces though.
I installed a S&J sling plate on mine a few months back. It is just like an 870, either a bolt or like you mentioned a huge flat head screw driver. Easy project.
got it, i tried the screwdriver method last night and had to put so much torque on it i broke the screwdriver, after that i figured i must be missing something, but a flat crowbar and a pair of vice grips got it, thanks guys
