Fabarm vs. Benelli M4

I've heard a lot of good things about the FABARM's.

But price aside, the Benelli M4 is one of THE best semi-auto shotguns ever made. If you have the monetary means, I highly recommend one :D

Definitely, my Benelli M4 is my favorite gun :D

That said, the Fabarms (semi auto and pump) are very nice Italian guns as well. Absolutely nothing wrong with them, although I have not much personal experience with them.

Haven't tried the Fabarm but had an M4 for a little while. Its the best shotgun I've ever used. In my opinion, far more pleasant to shoot than say a Remington or Mossberg. With the Benelli, you definately get what you pay for.

IMO you are deciding between two of the best shotguns on the market. Go to a gun shop and play with both to see which fits and feels the best for you. Perhaps go and ask owners at ranges to pop off a few rounds. And if after that, you still can't decide just buy both.:D
But seriously, it will be hard to find one outstanding factor that will automatically make you choose between the two.

Said it before and I'll keep saying it every time the subject comes up.

The Benelli M4 Super 90 is one of the best shotguns in the world and my goto gun for everything. Best shotgun I have ever owned and works for anything and everything I need a shotgun for, except possibly for cowboy action shooting - but I'd try it! It is probably higher priced than the FabArm, but worth every penny.

I guess the equivelent Fabarm to the M4 would be the SAT 8. The M4 is better but also over twice the price.

Hmmmm. Fabarm SAT 8 Pro telescopic is 1638 at The Shooting Edge.

Benelli M4 is 2249 at WSS.

Double 1638, and you have 3276, sorry. Its not quite double.

I was deciding between the two as well, I looked at warranty. First of all no one could really tell me what the warranty was with the Fabarm, which really did not impress me. Then, if I remember correctly, HK was selling the Fabarms, and was offering a lifetime warranty on them. They stopped that a number of years ago, and now they have a 1 or 2 year warranty IIRC, where the Benelli has a 5 year warranty.

Oh, ps. I went with the M4, and I am very happy with it.

I've only held the M4 and never the SAT-8 but I think the Benelli wins because of the adjustable stock {the intermediate position feels *perfect* for me and quite a few others} and also, given the high profile military and police contracts as well as a surprising number of private owners, they just seem to be more established in the marketplace by an order of magnitude.

My father bought the SAT8 a while back...

He 'forgot' it at my place once or twice and let me play with it... It was nice to send a hundred or so slugs and buckshots loads down range! the peep sight are nice and the gun does a great job at soaking up recoil.

The down side: when he first got it, it had to go back for warranty twice. Something not right with the trigger group/loading gate... all is fine now.

If I'd be looking for a semi-automatic combat shotgun, I'd pony up the extra $ and go with the M4.

My 2 bits. Bought one last year on Gunnutz for $850, 2rd ext spring/plug $50, Fabarm Knoxx collapsible stock $175, all these included shipping so total = $1075. Works like a charm, not a M4 but just in case I also have my Rem Express Tactical for backup.
