Fabryka Broni Radom BRS99

It is a very accurate firearm. I had one for 4 years and never had a problem with it. When I purchased mine it was 1595.00, comes with 4 magazines, a magazine pouch, holster and cleaning kit. They are a fun little carbine!

I would look at getting the Brugger&thomett TP9 before the BRS.
TP9 has a rail mount to attach optics and mags are more redily available.
Thats just my 2cents.........

Brs

BRS is made out of steel and is a great shooting little carbine. You will experience no trouble with it at all. As with any firearm try the feel of it first and compare. Looks arnt everything. The first BRS I had was under 10 for a serial number and I still regret selling it to my buddy. rigrat

Are you speaking from experience?

I've shot several and seen several that were less than reliable. I admit I don't go looking for parts or accessories for them as I don't own one but, I haven't seen much other than the odd magazine available. Compared to the BT TP9 there is no comparison.

TDC

ETA: Here's some numbers for thought.

BRS99- 2.47 Kg empty with a closed and open length of 470mm/670mm
BT TP9- 1.4Kg empty with a closed and open length of 303mm/523mm

The TP9 comes with a pic rail on top, the BRS99 does not.

Where did you shoot it, @ The Shooting Edge indoor range??

Hello,

I bought one a couple of years ago for $1800 or so. It came with the gun, 1 short mag and 3 long mags (all 5 rounders of course), a 3 mag pouch, sling, holster, manual and some cleaning brushes I think.

It is a very solid gun and shoots every 9mm I fed it. Never had a problem with it. It shoots accurately up to 25 yards beyond which is hard to hit due to the coarse sights.

I also have an AR 9mm and I use it far greater than the BRS99. My AR 9mm can do 2" at 100 yards as compared to the BRS 99 and is far quicker to handle in practical matches.

A new BRS99 is overpriced in my opinion by about $800 dollars and is EXTREMELY hard to sell if you decide to. People will not pay more than around $1000 for it. On the other hand an AR 9mm will sell relatively quickly in my opinion. The BRS99 when I bought it was $200 more than a new AR and the BRS99 is really just stamped metal parts spot welded together (although it is well built and tough) as compared to the precision machined parts of the AR.

If you really are looking for something "like" an UZI because you missed the prohib train, then the BRS99 is the next best ticket in town.

If you really are looking for the best sub-gun (it's arguable based on opinion), then I would go AR-15 in 9mm hands down.

Obviously if you have the cash, then why settle and go for both options.

Hope this helps,
on-ca

I own a BRS an was amazed about its accuracy when I tried it the first time.
Had no jams with it so far (2000rds).
I decided to got for it instead of the brugger and tomet just because it is metal and dosnt look like a plastic toy gun.
Go see: http://www.opisybroni.republika.pl/
Lots of info on it.
Btw...all new military firearm are overprice in this country. And the used ones arent getting cheaper...

Sorry this is the direct link: http://www.opisybroni.republika.pl/Glauberyt Eng.html

Its called a "Glauberyt PM98" in its auto version.
It's use by Polish tactical police force in its Semi-auto (Brs99) version. Its has a filted cover on the front handle that can receive either a tactical flashlight a laser (not included) but comes with a small tube that carries extra firing pin.
You can also change barrel without field stripping the gun.Very easy to strip, very easy to clean.
Its shipped with 4 mags, cleaning kit, sling, holster and a little operating manual...
I know some people have sold this gun cheaper but without some of the accessories.

X2 on the TP9!!

I've had no experience with the BRS 99 but the TP9 is the T!ts. I just took mine out for it's inaugural run. Over 400 rounds with no problems.

The manual of arms is pretty solid with bolt release, mag release, and safety all able to operate with the shooting hand. The charging handle is ambi and very AR-esk in operation. Despite the externals being primarily made of polymer, it had a very solid feel. The stock locks up tight with no noticeable wobble. The trigger is fairly heavy, but similar to the Glock, with a bladed safety on the trigger, except it pulls straight back instead of pivoting. If it were lighter, the trigger design would have a lot of accuracy potential. Despite the trigger, the TP9 is quite accurate with near rapid fire fist size groups fairly easy at 25 yards. Mine seems to like 115g, though it shot everything I fed it with no issues at all. I did try it briefly at the 100 yard gong at our range and was able to hit it with some degree of regularity, but will need to spend more time practicing at that range to get the hold over just right. Optic used was an Aimpoint micro which is probably a near perfect combination for the TP9.

The one issue that was bothersome is the the mags were pinned a little too tight and I'm not able to insert a full 5 round mag into the gun and then use the charging handle. I either have to load four rounds or lock the bolt open before I insert a mag. If the pin were slightly lower this would probably alleviate the problem. A lot of guys have this issue with AR mags as well. This is more an issue with out useless laws, than with the way the gun was designed. EDIT: The mags seem very robust as well. Despite the bodies and lips being made entirely of some sort of clear plastic, I noticed no noticeable wear to the feed lips. I've also never read of any negative reports about TP9 mags. I purchased my mags from Wolverine and am waiting for Blue Line to receive stock, as they have the best price I have found on them.

I also scored a replacement top cover for DIRT CHEAP :D that I plan on modding with a side rail to mount a weapon light...I'll start a new thread when I do.

All, in All I think the TP9 is a fantastic firearm, and a near perfect bug-out weapon, (for those that consider that type of thing:)) due to it's easy to conceal size and easy to find 9mm chambering. It's also much cheaper to shoot than 5.56!!

Ive tried the TP9. Very sharp shooter..
Being more "old school" by prefering all metal "sporting rifle", I went with the BRS. I bought it without ever trying it so I took a chance and im very satisfied. Dont get me wrong: I would buy the TP9 but I busted my "gun budget" a long time ago!
