Fabsports aimpoint clones?

I just ordered a M&P 15/22 and now i want to try a few different styles of optics to see what like before investing real money in optics. So my question is has anyone tried the fabsports aimpoint clones? If so will they function and survive on a 22 for any length of time? If not is there anything in the same price range thats decent enough? Thanks
 
I'm also on the hunt for a decent priced optic and from what I've found, if you wanna go Aimpoint clone go Vortex Strikefire or SPARC.
