I took in trade a Tokarev pistol that takes a 22 sub cal round.
It looks like a regular Tokarev, but the name on the slide is "Sportowy". The top of the slide has a number 11 inside a circle, and 1955.

I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with them?
Can the barrel and clip can be changed over to 9mm with out changing the main spring?
If anyone knows anything about this type of firearm, your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

They are a Polish training pistol sold a number of years ago by Century. The .22 cartridges are placed in carriers that look like centrefire cartridges. They act like floating chambers. Did any of the carriers accompay the pistol? Can't be fired without them. The whole upper assembly is rimfire, including the firing pin in the slide. I do not know if the receiver could be adapted for centrefire or not. Given what centrefire Tokarevs cost, I doubt if it would be worth the effort to convert one of these, and it is a legitimate variant in its own right.

Thanks Tiriaq
Thanks for your help, there were 7 or 8 adaptors with it. Most are in the grease. Will it eject the fired adaptors or do they have to be ejected manualy?
I thought it was an interesting item and I like military type guns. I suppose it would be easy to make some more of the adaptors. One of the guys was thinking it would be a good idea to make some out of brass but they might be too heavy to eject. We had a discussion about it at the Truro gun show.
