Factory 25-06 ammo

I roll my own, but in a pinch, the Federal blue box shoots well. They drop deer like a ton of bricks. I tried the Federal fusions. They did not impress me at all. Nuff said.

Remington 120 grain corelokt's shoot 1-1.5 inch groups through my Sako. Take that same brass, inspect, trim, re-size and load with Barnes 100 grain TSX BT's and 52.5 or 53 grains of IMR 4350 for sub MOA groups.

I to was not impressed with the fusion ammo. I like hornady superformance. I get 1.5" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. My gun loves winchester super X cxp1 90gr and cxp2 120gr. They group under moa for 3 shots easy I've takin a nice black bear with the 120gs and it ripped a 5" entrance hole in the ribs. She had some fat on her that really opened the bullet. No tracking but it didn't reach the off shoulder. Balistic tips where not accurate in my gun. Prvi was ok and I have a box of 117gr blue box federal. Only fired one round and it was 2" left 1" low of my normal group. Never fired another

What was it that you guys didn't like about the Fusions? I sold my .25-06 before I even shot it but my friend couldn't get good accuracy from them. I believe he settled on Winchester Power Points (120gr?) as a deer bullet, with the intention of trying Partitions and Barnes at a later date as an all around bullet.

They would group decent 1.5" at a 100 yards but firing them into various medias I found they do not hold together at all. Also over my chorongraph on various days they would only average 2850fps. They would be ok for deer size game but I'd like a bullet to perform as it is suppose to.
