Factory 30-06 rnds for deer

Hunt deer with a 760 pump. 30-06. Mostly for nostalgic factor as it was passed down to me.
Don’t shoot it a lot for fun at a range. Just for deer hunting . So I don’t put a lot of rounds threw it.
Will be sighting in a new scope for it and am looking for my best option for store bought ammo. Max distance for areas I hunt is likely 300yds with the average around 100.
Would like to buy a couple boxes to sight in and the rest should last a few years.

Looking for the most lethal round.

Considering a good shot is placed. Not a lot of room for the deer to run once it’s shot before it hits some thick bush.
So basically looking for a brand to stick with for a while .
 
You'll really have to tinker to see what it lIke's but I prefer 165 grain in the .30/06 for whitetail. As for most lethal.........dead is dead. Don't know what brands you have access to but federal power shock always seems to perform well.

Just about any .30-06 ammo selection will do the trick out to the ranges you say. Try a few to see how they shoot in your gun. Sometimes the Remmy 760's in the long action calibers had trouble ejecting an un-shot shell from the chamber such as the Imperial Sabre Tips. It is has been so long since I had my 760 that I can't even say about the most recent ammo.

Either way, any factory load out there should do the trick.

Have used the rifle for 2 years now with cheapo Winchester rounds. And only 1 box...they work fine.
I kinda figured most factory loads will group just fine and do the trick. Just don’t want to buy 3-5 random boxes just to see how they perform. Only shoot 1/2 box a year MAX so I will take all these suggestions into consideration and start from there
 
Rem Core-Lokt or Federal Fusion... stay away from Winchester Super-X, unless you like the lead tips pointing every which way, in the classic snaggle-toothed formation.
 
I bought 10 boxes of Winchester Grey box 150 and 180 gr 300wm ammo because it was the quickest way to get the brass for reloading as the usual dealers didn't have any and I was pressed for time
Both weights grouped very well. The 180 gr grouped so well and held together when hitting the back stop at the range I lent it to a friend for a moose hunt and another for a bear hunt. Buddy dropped a moose on the spot with a frontal chest shot. Didn't find the bullet but it was said to have made it well into the guts
The lead tips were deformed as Hoyt mentioned but they still grouped at just over an inch at 100 yards for 5 shots. 3 shot groups were smaller. It's a thin barrel and heats up quick
Cheap effective and available everywhere I'd suggest it for your 30/06
 
All of the above, I have used everything mentioned aside from the Winchester grey box and they all performed well on deer
