Factory 7mm STW

WSS shows two different model 700's in 7stw (custom ks mountain and AWR) That being said they are probably not in Stock.

I found out that Winchester no longer makes 7mm STW brass, yet make oddball stuff like 218 bee,307,348,356,358, 375 win...yeah they must sell tons of that stuff.......I guess they dont' like competition with the 7mm wsm....All it does is make me turn around and buy brass from remington.

I agree about the gun makers concentrating on their proprietary Chamberings to sell Ammunition...IE - RUM's, WSM's, RCM's and RUGER......

Its too bad but that's business.

I'm on my third, it'll be going with me this weekend. 1 1/2" high at 100, 1 1/2" low at 300. Not too much worry about holdover. That's with 160 TSXs. Probably just slightly flatter than the 338 Fed.

There is a Rem Sendero in 7STW for sale on one of the other boards...

Looks tempting, but no need since I have one in the superior .270 WBY

What exactly is your point, anyways? Did you really expect the 7mm STW to be a 'factory' offering in conventional hunting rifles untill the end of time?

I don't think there is a big enough market for it. The hype drove sales for a few years, and when it died, so did the product.

The fact is, most hunters only need/want a pump action .30-06 or .308

Those that succumb to every new fad, have short spans of interest, and very little 'loyalty' to a specific cartridge, no matter how 'good' it is.

Wow, try some warm milk.......I was just chating with a buddy and the topic of the 7mm STW came up and I was surprised that Sako and Remington had dropped it....not really beating the 7mm drum or saying that hunters need any more than a sharp stick....just a casual observation.
