I am thinking of driving down to southern Ontario one of these days and entering in a F class shoot just for fun and exsperiances I guess my question would be is there a devision or class for factory rifles in .308 my rifle is a m700 .308 varmint and I plan on puting a better stock on it but I hope it would still conforum to a factory rifle class.

Is there such a class or would I be shooting amongst high dollar custom built rifles ?

The ORA does have a Factory class but with such few entries you will likely be grouped in with the F/TR class. I have seen F Factory rifles win against F/TR shooters. If you plan to shot long range, please make sure you use the right bullet (155 or 175 gr) 168's don't work at 1000 yards, and have enough elevation on your scope to get out to 1000 yards. If possible get to Borden for a long range practice day. A match day isn't the place to find out you load does not work or that you have to aim at a cloud because you don't have enough elevation on your scope.

By the rules, if you change from a factory stock, you would be in the F/TR class. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just go out and have fun.

They used to have a lot factory F class shooters at Kingston Ontario F class shoot its a 600 yard range, and a well tuned factory gun could do quite well.
There spring shoot is June 8 & 9 check out Ontario Rifle Association web pages on upcoming events.

You are not alone. I will be entering my first competition with the PQRA next weekend with a modified Savage Axis in 223. I will be in F/TR, this mean against high-dollar rifle. I'm not even close to 1k$ for my entire set-up (scope included), but I go there to learn.

Have fun, and good luck !

To be competitive, you need to hold 1/3 moa at 100y... If not you still are able to practice your wind call but you will lose some point to elevation.... By the way i won canadian championship 2011 Ftr with a 700 rem!
