Factory "Gentleman's rifle" - if there is such a thing

Mossberg Patriot Revere

re·vere

verb
revere; 3rd person present: reveres; past tense: revered; past participle: revered; gerund or present participle: revering
feel deep respect or admiration for (something).

You feelin' ok?

I like that sling. Do you know the brand and model?

Thanks in advance

I have 4 slings of that style that I bought in the 70's, that where made by "Hunter" at least that is what was stamped on them. I haven't seen them in many years. That last time I needed slings I couldn't find anything I liked so I bought leather strap from Tandy leather and made them.

As for a gentleman's rifle. One may assume the gentleman has ample monetary means which would allow him the latitude of a custom grade rifle with high grade walnut, fine cut checkering and the metal of high polish and a deep rich blue. Calibre would be of older vintage, 30-06, 300 H&H etc. Action would be of the gentleman's preference in either a single shot, double rifle or bolt. Open sights if his eyes allow or a scope with Leupold being at the low end if his eyes need the aid of optics.

I consider myself a gentleman but one of rather limited monetary means. A category which I feel most gentleman fall into. Therefore Winchester M-70's and Kimber Classic Select rifles are in my cabinet. This fall the pre 64 M-70 in 300 H&H is getting to see time afield.

Not that I would know much about being a gentleman, but I believe the Highland Stalker meets the description of the rifle a gentleman might carry. There's just something about the name, John Rigby and Company . . .

The image of a Gentleman in a suit with a Rigby pales in comparison to the image of a common man in a muddy uniform with a Lee Enfield.

While I agree on respect due, I hope all our and our kids’ futures have more in common with the sporting gentleman than the soldiers of world war. These are entirely different conversations, one considers fields of suffering and is reverent, and one wistfully dreams of perfect days afield with a nearly perfect sporting arm for the occasion.

Here’s to Rigby’s, No.1s, Supergrades, and happiness.

Don't they run about 10 grand?

A better bet would be to have a look toward the Paul Revere story.
An American '' Patriot '' who made his mark in the war against the British army.
Unfortunately , Mossberg's website don't help a lot.
