Factory Glock Barrel Polishing...???

Yes you can. It's not an issue. In fact as your barrel gets worn the parts you described will begin to not have that dark/smooth black Glock tennifer finish anymore.

You just have to be careful on what you use to polish with. If you use something that will remove a micro portion of metal, you may remove some of the tenifer treatment in the metal. The black finish is just a color paint tarnish pretty much and can be removed without any worries.

So what's the best method? I may have to do this too.

The best and safest method would be the "vinegar bath". You clean and remove all oil from the barrel, then fill up a bole with normal vinegar and let sit for a couple of hours. After you will start seeing that the black will look kinda funny. Use a green scotch brite pad and rub with tons of elbow grease and at the end you will receive a dull gray finish ( because of the tenifer treatment). After soak the barrel in baking powder and water to neutralize the acid. When the black is pretty much gone, you can use mother's mag polish with a soft rag, and start polishing the steel. Quickest way to do it would be with a dremel, but you cant beet the good old fashion way.

:agree: To speed up the process I used a vinegar/peroxide bath followed by a bit of rubbing with maroon coloured scotchbrite clothes, then the rotary tools and polish.

hmmm... Slide looks good, but then it might be a pain in the ass to keep clean. I am known to be a little anal, and my stainless guns dont get to the range as much because i hate cleaning them. Scrub, and scrub, and scrub to keep them shinny after a few hundred rounds. I dont think the barrle would be that bad, but the slide might be a #####.
Does look #### hot though
