Factory M14 shorty?

In the past I've purchased four of the standard M-305s from Marstar. I'd definitely be down for at least two factory shorty M-14S/M-305, especially if they had a Gas Lock Front Sight like the Smith Enterprise on their Crazy Horse rifle. That would be sweet.

i wish i had the same ability.... my wife gives me flak for having 2 different guns at once... i have to recycle if i want something new...then she complains im wasting money in trades...

apparently, telling her about that ''worn only once, but costing twice as much as my rifle '' wedding dress still hanging in the closet was not a good idea...

so i think i would get away with a 18.5 in. barrel, but not a whole new gun.

As far as I know I can get any springfield rifle I want from the local gun retailer. But M1a's go for way too much, upward of 2-3grand. My M-305 does the same job for $500. I dont get these guys that say they would buy 2 springfields, that could be 6 grand, does anyone actually realize they sell for better than twice the price up here as they do in the states.

the guys down south also have a thing called the cmp- civilain marksmanship program- that sells the garands, carbines, and some others at reasonable prices to the public

I don't know why John at Marstar has not followed up on this tread. There seems to be a reasonable amount of interest.

given the amount of m14 stuff marstar sells, with the back orders parts that , once in , get liquidated after only a few hours, i don't think that he needs to be reminded of the interest gunnutz have for m14's.
just my opinion

Yeah...put me down for one or two. I saw a regular Norc M-14 at the range today for under $500...I even fantasized about how cool it would be to shorten the barrel by a few inches. If I hadn't already spent upwards of $1500 on guns and related items this month, I would have snagged it.

Anyone have any opinions about the effects of new regulations being introduced by Harper & co. in re: Long Gun Registry in the coming weeks? I am wondering whether it should be easier or harder to get M14 shorties after the laws are altered.

Just ordered one shorty + ammo deal from canadaammo.com, as this thread looks dead and I was serious about wanting to get my hands on a couple. If I like what I get, I'll see about another from them (can't have too many... too many zombies around.)

"Well, if John were to come out and say that he's waiting for the RCMP to give him the "go-ahead and order",

How do these threads get going ?? They seem to take on a life of their own....

It will be a cold day in hell when a government agency tells Marstar what to import and when.... We function within the currents laws....

So you WILL be bringing them in then, to "show the man" eh? :D

Just came back from the range with my son-in-law who brought one of his M14 shorties, and, firing a couple of clips with it made me want one even more.

I don't suppose I'm all that different from thousands of others out there: it's frustrating that many dealers who have the connections and resources to mass-purchase a particular type of firearm won't bring them in even though the demand is obviously there, and that a forum exists which thousands of gun enthusiasts subscribe to & avidly read on a daily basis.

Is there something I'm missing about this? The concept of a successfully run business should be supply & demand - if a demand exists for a product, some entrepreneur will make money by providing that product, not just hinting to people that - maybe - we'll stock it sometimes in the future...

Perhaps there are difficulties about the supply which I'm not aware of, but it seems some countries with similar laws to Canada's have imported M14 shorties successfully. If Marstar has reservations about supplying these for our domestic market, I'm sure all of us would be appreciative of learning what they are. I believe Marstar is a top-rate outfit that tries to cater to shooters such as myself; I just wish they could give us a definitive reply when a thread like this sparks desire in so many, and then smolders for months & months.

Marstar has probably learned not to make any premature announcement since everyone gives them #### if the expected delivery date isn't correct.
Kind of like how canadaammo also didn't announce arrival of the rifles till they were on our shores.
