Factory reloads - save the brass once shot?

so i just bought myself a couple .45 ACP boxes of Wolf ammo (commercially reloaded)

since they are already reloads, should i save the brass to sell it, or is it considered like fired more than once, and therefore no good?

May sound like a stupid question to ammo experts, sorry bout that :)
 
Shoot it. Resize it. Reload it and shoot it again. I've used thousands of Wolf's reloaded brass over and over in my .40 S&W.

Inspect each piece after cleaning and resizing but you should do that anyway.
 
cool thanks. I'm not into reloading yet as i don't have the time nor the space...but maybe eventually :D

in the mean time i'll sell it. :) How much does .45 ammo brass go for?

rooster, i may not know what its worth, but i know its worth something. My range will give you a partial refund on their own reloads if you give them back the brass. i think its 6 bucks back on a box of 50 .45ACP.

But not knowing if thats how much they go for on the market, i figured asking was the best thing to do.
 
You'll lose .45 brass long before you wear it out. I would consider it to have an indefinite lifespan. The case mouth might crack eventually, but this is rare and won't do any damage.
 
You might want to check and see if those casings are using small pistol primers. Most people do not use these cases, but rather the large pistol primed cases. If you plan on trying to sell them they might not be worth much. I remember reading some time ago that Wolfe was using them for some reason.

Just compare a factory case to one of the reloads and you will know the difference if there is one.

Well sure enough, you were right. The Wolf ammunition has smaller primers than my winchester ranger JHP ammo.

So...should i still keep the brass given that fact?
 
heck , yea, i made the switch over to small primer a couple of yrears back, it's just a matter of switching primer troughs and pins- the flashholes are the same size- just make sure the buyer KNOWS it's small cup brass so there's no hard feelings

YES!!!!

I sold over 3000 of my small pistol primer Wolf brass to a buyer for more then Large pistol primer brass was going for a year back.

Supply and demand.

Low supply, meduim demand from people who want to use the cheaper small primers, and not have to swich the priming tool on the press at all.
 
I just reloaded a few of the small pistol primer WIN cases. They work just fine but you have to get rid of the primer crimp 1st. A bit of extra work, but not a huge deal.
